PBIS

Welcome To Christa Mcauliffe School

We are excited to begin the 2021-2022 school year with you. This year will hold many opportunities for all children to grow, learn, and achieve success. At CMS, we are committed to ensuring your child has a positive experience every day while at school. To do this, we work with you, your child and staff to develop positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS). PBIS is a framework that teaches and reinforces expected behaviors while at school. Our students and staff share the same expectations for behaviors in different settings (classroom, bathroom, hallways, etc.). We have created a PBIS Handbook for this new school year. It includes additional information about PBIS, our School-wide behavior plan, acknowledgement systems, and more. This resource is also on our school website, and hard copies are available upon request. Our school-wide expectations which are taught to all school community members at the beginning of each school year are:

CMS = CARING MOTIVATED & SAFE

By working together to promote positive behavior, student achievement will increase and prepare our children for 21st Century Learning Skills. Research shows that when the home and school work together, student learning is more successful! We will be in contact with you throughout the year. Please read, discuss, and practice our school-wide expectations at home and encourage your child to BE CARING, MOTIVATED, and SAFE. We look forward to an exciting year together.
